Veterans Administration (VA) Benefit Planning

Veterans have selflessly served our country and are entitled to the best America has to offer.

However, unfortunately, like Medicaid, the process can be an exhaustive and complicated experience without a guide.

Most Veterans and their spouses have never heard of Non-Service Connected Pension (or Death Pension for a surviving spouse) with Aid & Attendance and so these benefits are underutilized.

This benefit is a cash benefit that is paid out monthly for the rest of the veteran’s or surviving spouse’s life to help them pay for the medical care they need. To qualify for this benefit, there is an income/asset threshold that must be met.

1.The Veteran must have served 90 consecutive days on active military duty.

2.The Veteran must have served at least 1 day of active duty during a war period.

3. The Widow must not have divorced the Veteran or remarried after the Veteran’s death.

4.The Veteran must have received a better than dishonorable discharge.

5.The Veteran or Widow must need assistance with their daily living activities.

6.The Veteran and/or Spouse must be below the asset threshold established by the VA in 2018.

It is crucial that a VA Accredited attorney or representative be consulted when looking to apply for this benefit.
